“Comfort Food”

Client: Dino Skatepark

“Comfort Food” is an incredibly experimental song that is almost six minutes long. As a result, I wanted to make the music video experimental as well.

The whole project runs at 9 frames per second which gives it a bizarre feel. There is a substantial amount of instrumental parts in this song, so I had some help from our Director/Cinematographer, Veronika Potylitsina. We collaborated and filmed a story where the drummer loses his cool when he realizes all his bandmates came to his barbecue bringing their own food.

During the lyrical sections, the camera pans in to the table cloth, and each word appears with every individual character moving on its own. I absolutely loved the results. As the song and scene intensifies, so does the background on the table cloth.
